Press Release - 11/13

November 13th - The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection Announces Organizational Restructuring

With a legacy of service and advocacy for the LGBTQ community, The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection has consistently been at the forefront of providing support, education, and resources. Today, we are announcing a restructuring that will impact our staffing model, necessitated by current financial constraints.

Effective Thursday, November 16, 2023, we will regrettably be reducing our staff numbers. This decision comes after an extensive review of our fiscal situation and consideration of all possible alternatives to maintain our operations and mission.

The Center has not taken this decision lightly. We recognize the incredible contributions of each team member and the difference their dedication makes in the lives of those we serve. It is a deeply unfortunate situation that we, like many non-profits, are facing in these challenging economic times.

We want to assure our stakeholders, partners, and the community we serve that our commitment to our mission remains unwavering. We are actively working to minimize the impact of this change on our services and programs. Our focus continues to be on providing quality support and resources to the LGBTQ community.

We understand the significance of these changes and their impact on the lives of our employees. While our budgetary constraints do not permit severance or exit assistance, we are dedicated to supporting our affected staff through other means, including providing job references and leveraging our extensive community network to assist in their employment transition.

To our volunteers, donors, and community partners, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support during this period of change. Your unwavering commitment to our cause is invaluable and deeply appreciated.

The Center is committed to transparency and will provide updates as they become available. We are confident that, with the support of our community, we will continue to advance the rights and well-being of LGBTQ individuals in our region.
