Report from the Center
The holiday season is upon us and the Center is getting to be busier than ever. Come join us the first three Saturdays of December-take a look at what we’ve got planned:
- December 1st we are co-sponsoring the World AIDS Day program with the ARCW. We will meet at the center around 6:15 pm and walk to the Children’s Museum for a short program.
- December 8th is a big day for the center with our workshop, Acceptance and Success As A Minority Within A Minority Community, 10am-1:00pm at the Hmong Cultural and Community Center. Additionally, the Center’s annual Open House and Art show will be from 2:00pm-5:00pm that afternoon. Give me a call at the Center for more info or to sign up for the workshop.
We’ve been busy trying find literature and movies to update our library with. We have a good wish list started on Amazon.com but if you have ideas or suggestions that we might consider or items you may want to donate, please don’t be afraid to pass them along. Items we would most like to see become part of our collection include: The L Word, Queer as Folk, But I’m a Cheerleader and pretty much any movie with a LGBT theme as we don’t have many of those in our collections right now. We are also looking for updated books about coming out, trans issues and the like.
Be watching our site for more info about our annual meeting and Euchre tournament coming after the holidays!
That’s all for now. We hope to see you at the Center soon!
Have a safe and happy holiday season,
Lindsay
