What’s Up at the Center?
The Sunshine Report
What do tree leaves this time of the year and our 7 Rivers Region LGBT Resource Center have in common? Both of them have the distinction of being very colorful. The trees will lose those pretty leaves and wait for spring to bring them to life. Our vibrant center is continually growing in many areas.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to Lindsay. She is our new LGBT Resource Center Coordinator from AmericaCorps. Stop in and get to know her, while she is familiarizing herself with the center.
We will soon have an LGBT gay-friendly church directory that I've been working on. This is a tremendous benefit to college students and LGBTs of all ages who are looking for a more open and liberal church where they will not feel intimidated to worship or explore and develop their individual spiritual growth.
Our library of books is still increasing. I hope to have all of the new donations, which are quite a few books, categorized and on the shelves as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has contributed books, monetary donations, and other resources to the center. Please continue to help build up the center!
We have an ever-expanding amount of resources for everyone to use. There is information about ARCW, the Aids Resource Center for Wisconsin, new material on how to deal with hatred and intolerance in schools and the community, and very helpful GLBT National Help Center brochures and other hotline numbers for anyone who needs to talk to someone about the difficult issues that they are facing in their lives. Do you have a particular problem or question in mind? Check out the 7 Rivers Region LGBT Resource Center, and you may find the answer laying right in front of you on the table. If not, we will make every effort to guide you in the right direction.
Best Regards,
